I keep the book on the table where I write and I find reading a day or two in your book and looking at the paintings inspires me. I find your book very comforting and stabilizing. Maybe because I also watch your YouTube’s as you hike along and the beauty of nature that your video’s capture. I was’t really sure what motivated me to buy it, but I am so very glad I did. I love the paper its printed on.

I followed your PCT trip last year and admired your efforts to paint and write after the long days. I back pack in the Sierras and love to paint water color.

I pre ordered my book while Suzie and Robert were hiking the PCT. I watched every video so I thought I had some idea of what they were putting together. I knew Robert is an excellent artist. From U Tube I knew Suzie could explain what they were seeing and feeling in a way that translates honesty and vulnerability. I got this Book while we’re digging out and helping our neighbors rebuild here in NC after the hurricane and I set it on the nightstand. I could see it daily. I wanted to be present and really enjoy the experience and I just didn’t have the bandwidth for awhile.
When I started reading it I was astounded. This is a Book folks. It not a picture book with some short random entries. Or just a review of what I saw on u tube, though there is QR codes next to some entries that takes you to a utube video of that day.
Reading this has helped me after our area , friends and neighbors were so affected.
I thought at first if someone is planning to complete the PCT or any long trail they have to read this. Now I think this book is for anyone This may be the first time a writer and a painter are working together on the same project. Experiencing the same challenges and joys. And doing this as a couple or team relying on each other. The writing and paintings are equally important to the story. They complement each other , not compete.
I don’t know Suzie and Robert so this review is from the heart. I hope others get this Book and enjoy it as much as I do. (And I ordered some amazing paintings ) David. Big Bald Mtn NC.
