"Trailside Thistle" is a hand-painted original watercolor created directly along the Pacific Crest Trail during a thru-hike through the southern desert section. This minimalist yet expressive piece captures the stark contrast between the resilience of wild desert thistles and the open sky of the high desert landscape.

Painted en plein air in April 2024, it features towering pink thistles standing tall against a horizon of green hills and a deep blue sky—an authentic tribute to the quiet moments of beauty found in one of the harshest stretches of the PCT.
